How does the alert system work?

The alerts tool allows the user to receive email or text messages for various conditions such as sensor values, growing tool results, and irrigation length. There are two primary choices for when the system should monitor the alerts. The first method is every x minutes, this is good for checking things continuously throughout the day. The second option is once per day, this is good for setting alarms based on total daily irrigation or similar.
The system will only look at data from the last day or two. As such if a node stops logging data or the batteries die you will not receive constant error messages after a day or two.
If you wish to receive data (such as total daily irrigation) sent to your email or text message you can make a setpoint that is impossible to achieve and then it will always send you the requested data.
Alerts will also be displayed on the home page for 24 hours after the alert is first issued.

Since incorporating the data we get from sensor web into our irrigation scheduling we have been able to reduce our water use by 25%, this has also allowed us to expand our production without expanding infrastructure. We also use less fertilizer since our leaching is reduced.
